Termite Pretreatments
Termite Pretreatments are a necessity in areas where termites damage structures by feeding on cellulose (mostly wooden) components. Eastern North Carolina and Tidewater, Virginia are prime areas for termite activity. For this reason, building codes and lending institutions almost always require termite pretreatments for new buildings.
Terminix offers three different types of termite pretreatments:
- Terminix Liquid Defend System: Preconstruction horizontal soil treatment, followed by a post construction perimeter treatment.
- Borate Treatment: Applied at the “dried” in stage of construction. The goal is to create a 2 foot wide zone above the slab or soil surface of treated structural elements.
- Terminix Baiting System: A stand-alone termite pretreatment system installed in the ground around the perimeter of the structure after the final grade has been set.
As the expression “time is money” rings particularly true with the demands of building a home, Terminix has built its reputation on being able to provide a dependable and quick response to the building industry.

I called Tim this evening to inspect some noises for me. He dropped what he was doing to come out for my emergency this evening and I was so thankful!! I was scared cause I heard a rodent of some sort which I believed to be in my attic. He went in my attic to inspect and we determined a rodent was trying to come in through the roof but terminex sealed all exterior access points this past week and the rodent could not get in. I was so thankful that he came to help me and put my mind at ease that it is definitely not in my home or attic. I recommend Tim from terminex to anyone who may need pest control. Tim is very professional, communicates very well and did everything he could to put my fears at ease. Thank you!!!!

Eric, I think,(sorry if I got that wrong, maybe tim, thats the name on the card he gave me). from zip electric did a fantastic job, great explanation of the job and best way to handle same, and much appreciated. . On the whole i am extremely pleased. Didnt see the crew that did the insulation and sealing much, but they were in and out and did a great job cleaning up before they let me know they were ready to leave. on the whole i would fully endorse there work and recommend them .

I was blown away…Paul even took the time to fix my son’s bed, which I inadvertently broke in trying to prepare my house for Terminex arrival.He called me several times throughout the day to update me, did amazing job and I’m super grateful that Paul was the guy sent to my home..I pray I never, ever need to call Terminex again, but if I do, I will absolutely be asking for Paul in the Aberdeen office. Thanks Paul for everything!!!

Needless to say the roach problem was reduced significantly and is getting better everyday with just the first treatment. obviously there will be a check up to make sure the roaches dont repopulate. But i am very happy with the results.
